2020 PATHS-UP Innovation Seed Fund Winners

PATHS-UP is happy to announce the 2020 Innovation Seed Fund Winners. A total of $90,000 of grants were awarded to students and faculty this year,

Congratulations to the 2020 PATHS-UP Innovation Seed Fund winners! The awardees are not listed in any particular order.

For the faculty awards of $25,000 each were granted to the following:

  1. Dr. Souptik Barua from Rice for research in A Computational Framework to Discover Temporal Biomarkers of Type-2 Diabetes in a Low-income Cohort of Latino Participants
  2. Dr. Hye-Chung Kum from Texas A&M University for research in Effective Remote Monitoring Systems to Manage Hypertension for the Underserved Population in Texas

  3. Dr. Daniel T. Kamei from University of California, Los Angeles for research in Point-of-Care Device for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Heart Failure and Arrhythmia Patients
