The award not only recognizes innovative projects but also provides support for their further development, fostering a culture of innovation at Texas A&M University. Dr. Coté was honored for his expertise in biomedical diagnostics and monitoring research, which includes the development of hand-held and wearable devices for chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and preeclampsia, as well as for infectious diseases like malaria, and other biosensing applications for blood toxicants.
