Students Win 1st Place at 2024 BMEN Undergraduate Research Symposium

June 4, 2024

We’re thrilled to announce that three exceptional students from Dr. Hatice Ceylan Koydemir’s lab in Texas A&M University’s Biomedical Engineering Department have secured 1st place in the non-AEMB group at the 2024 BMEN Undergraduate Research Symposium. Their groundbreaking project, titled “Developing a Smartphone Application for Cardiac Health Monitoring,” impressed judges and fellow participants alike.

Meet the Award-Winning Team:

  1. Emiliano Uresti Torres
  2. Arnoldo Rodriguez II
  3. Samiha Ahmed
  4. Dr. Hatice Ceylan Koydemir

These talented students showcased their dedication and expertise during the symposium, which took place on April 19, 2024, at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, USA. Their innovative work bridges technology and healthcare, addressing a critical need for cardiac health monitoring, which will help to advance research efforts within the PATHS-UP ERC.

Prior to their symposium success, these students participated in an AggieChallenge (VIP) in Dr. Hatice Ceylan Koydemir’s lab during the 2024 spring semester. Their commitment to research and collaboration has truly paid off.

Congratulations to Emiliano, Arnoldo, Samiha, and Dr. Koydemir on their well-deserved achievement! 🎉🏆
